The fun part of this was the social factor-it was interesting to see what other people find interesting. Reddit was my least favorite (kind of haphazard), Digg and Mixx were very similar, and the graphic interface on Newsvine was nicely done. Looking through these gave me a way to share articles with my son, who has always enjoyed sharing and discussing current topics. It's not possible to do in person since he's moved to Hawaii, but now that's not a problem (although not QUITE as fun as face-to-face!). Since I didn't want to have to sign up for yet another thing, I cheated with sharing an article from New York Times by using Ben's (my son) existing account, for which the user name an password are still in my computer! And I still love StumbleUpon, and have gotten my daughter to sign up, too, by sending a cool artist's rendition of woman from the inside out.
Too bad I'm in a time crunch right now; I would love to explore these further.....
